Our Programs
Sankofa Educational Excursions are composed of 3 essential components:
Global Travel
Cultural Enrichment
Community Service

Global Travel
The SEE Organization is dedicated to funding international trips for young people from underserved communities to have the opportunity to see the world.

Cultural Enrichment
Youth and young adults are afforded opportunities to travel with the intention of cultural enrichment.

Community Service
SEE provides a fantastic experience for the KRWG Travel Scholars to give back globally in ways that impact minoritized people in the visited countries. Each trip will include a community service program.
Eligibility
High School and College age youth between the ages of 16-20 years old are eligible to apply for admission into the SEE program. A governing board will determine travel locations and scholarship recipients.

Eligible students can apply for a full scholarship to attend a ten-day global experience. Each trip is custom designed to include etiquette training, home and school visits, meetings with business and government officials, and exposure to cultural and tourist sites. Selected students must participate in a two-week preparatory session where they will research local news, the history, economy, government structure, religious makeup, demographic lifestyles, and social justice issues confronting minoritized people of the country. The culminating portion of the trip includes a hands-on community service project representative of the legacy of Kimberly R. Willis Gagnier.
Up to twelve students will be selected to participate as Kimberly R. Willis Gagnier (KRWG) Travel Scholars for the program.
